Who Are We?
Union Missionary
Baptist Church is a unified group of people from all ages who have a
saving and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are
unified in our desire to glorify God as we strive to be a lighthouse
in this community. Our goal is to reach people with the gospel
and bring them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
We see ministry
taking place in three specific ways. We have a ministry to
God, a ministry to the world, and a ministry to believers. A
ministry to God involves worship. A ministry to the world
involves evangelism. A ministry to believers involves
discipleship. It is through these three areas that we seek to
"...present every man perfect in Christ Jesus" Colossians
1:28
What Do We Do?
Worship
Our worship services are a time where the whole church gathers
together to glorify God and enjoy His presence. The services
take place on Sundays at 11 am and then again at 6 pm. It is
an opportunity to express our praise through singing, prayer and the
expositional teaching of Scripture.
Evangelism
Evangelism is an underlying principle with the ministry here at
Union. The greatest evangelistic tool is each and every
believer actively seeking to present the truth of the gospel to
everyone whom they meet
We also offer training in evangelism through a program called
FAITH. It teaches believers how to clearly communicate the
gospel. The information is put into practice as people go into
the community and share the message.
Discipleship
The third aspect of ministry that is important here at Union is
the desire to take believers into a deeper relationship with Jesus
Christ. This ministry of discipleship is fulfilled in a
variety of ways. Our most significant ministry is the Sunday
School. This takes place on Sunday morning at 9:45 am and
enables people to form close relationships. Time is spent in
prayer and Bible study that is practical and relevant.
Discipleship also takes place in a variety of other Bible studies
such as the First Place health program, a women's Bible study, the
Women of Mission, the Baptist Men, the Royal Ambassadors, the Girls
in Action, and Wednesday night Prayer Meeting.
